Tumbleweed was formed in 1998 by Singer/Songwriter Bob Macy, along with his brother Billy, who plays bass guitar. "There has always been a strong presence of music and art in their family" ...forming an atmospher of creativity and imagination. They have always played the songs just as they had remembered them making their shows something easy to remember and hard to forget. Stripped down, no frills, no light shows and no explosions...just good music played and sung well at a volume that's good for everyone.
Crusing down the road in the 1960's you couldn't turn on your radio without hearing the simple strains of "Mrs.Robinson,""A Hard Days Night" or "I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)".And in the 1970's we were singing along to songs like "Take It Easy,""Peaceful Easy Feeling." "Stuck In The Middle With You" or "The Joker." Radio pop rock classics everyone has heard before.
Tumbleweed's tribute to the classics, cover a selection of tunes that are familiar to the raido listening audience. Tumbleweed's focus on dynamics and vocal harmonies set's them apart from your average loud, hard hitting bands. But don't get me wrong, when these guys need to rock it up, they can keep up with the best of them. Mostly influenced by the 1960;s & 70's Classics like the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and the Eagles, they also play songs from CCR, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, ELO, Neil Young, Grang Funk, Cracker, Lynard Skynyrd, Bad Company, and many more.
Having played over 1000 shows this past 9 years, Tumbleweed can assure you of a true professional performance.Playing shows at Chicago's Navy Pier, The United Center before a Blackhawks game, Arlington International, Taste of Chicago, Hard Rock Caf'e, and a wide variety of other festivals, clubs, corporate events, weddings and private affairs, Tumbleweed's played them all and can customize their performance to fit your entertainment situation.
